Natalie Ricciardi, PhD

Senior Analyst

Dr. Ricciardi joined inThought in 2024 after receiving her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Miami (UM) with a focus in preclinical Alzheimer’s disease drug discovery and basic mechanisms of memory formation. Training at the intersection of biochemistry and psychiatry under Dr. Claes Wahlestedt, she became a multidimensional investigator with a skillset that spans epigenetics, exercise physiology, DNA damage and repair, next-generation sequencing technologies, oligonucleotide therapeutics, and rare diseases.

During her PhD, Dr. Ricciardi co-founded the Florida chapter of Nucleate, a biotech nonprofit democratizing access to biotech entrepreneurship for life science founders. With her leadership team, she created Florida’s only inter-university life science organization, connecting early-stage founders and trainees to workforce development and entrepreneurial opportunities across the state and increasing the quality and visibility of life science talent produced in Florida. During this time, she also completed the Research Commercialization Fellowship at the UM Office of Technology Transfer and Nucleate’s Business Development Fellowship in collaboration with Genentech. These experiences have helped Dr. Ricciardi develop a unique ability to generate strategic, interdisciplinary partnerships to solve many of the hurdles associated with biotech entrepreneurship from technical strategy and talent sourcing to economic development and government support.
