After completing a Master’s degree in biomedical communication and management at the University of Leuven, Belgium, Dr. Roosenboom earned her PhD at the same institution, studying facial morphology associated with orofacial clefting. She continued studying facial genetics during her postdoctoral work at the University of Pittsburgh, USA.

While working on her postdoctoral research, Dr. Roosenboom was also affiliated as a commercial translation architect with sciVelo, the commercial translation office of the University of Pittsburgh. She supported research teams in successfully translating their inventions from an academic environment into industry, mainly focusing on inventions in the dental-oral-craniofacial regenerative medicine field.
